Pinterest Addiction

I have a very intense shopping addiction right now and I’m sure I’m not experiencing any type of mania. It’s all due to Pinterest. After watching Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane and seeing Ming Lee’s minimalist style I’m obsessed. I’ve always considered myself a minimalist but lately as far as fashion is concerned, I’ve really been into patterns, but not after watching the show. I love how thin she is, and her clothes fit her perfectly. That’s the exact look I want even down to the eyebrows. Side note I am considering microblading but I’m still on the fence.

Pinterest is the culprit because now when you see a look you can shop that look. I’m eyeballing this leather jacket with baggy blue jeans, and I just have to have that look. What pops up? The jacket in the picture so I go to the website to check it out. It’s just under $400 but I don’t have $400 to drop so what do I do? I purchase it using Afterpay. Yet another trap. I have two weeks to pay for i so it’s like $82 every two weeks but that’s only one purchase. Now I have to find the jeans. I’m shopping around but can’t find anything so I go to my trusted, overpriced site, Free People. I see a perfect pair of Diesel jeans, but they don’t have my size, so I join the waiting list. I go back maybe thirty minutes later, by the way it is 11 p.m. and I’m in bed, yet I get up search a little harder and I find the perfect pair of Diesel jeans and this pair is only $220 so what do I do I use Afterpay, yet again. That’s another $55 every two weeks. And this my friends was the end of my shopping weekend.

It’s Monday morning and I’ve got to log in for work in thirty minutes, and I just want to go back on Pinterest to look at more styles. It’s truly addictive. I did nothing all weekend but shop via Pinterest. Oh yeah, I failed to mention that I was watching the Crown but only the episodes with Princess Diana. I Googled her style and saw the famous black sheep sweater on an Elle magazine website and guess what? They had a link to a website where you could purchase a replica of the sweater. So, what did I do I went to the website and bought it. How you might ask did I pay for it. Afterpay. Another $35 or so every two weeks. Bought a cropped trench coat from the Coach Outlet too to add to my minimalist look.

You know after all this shopping I must be thin to fit into all this new fashion. I recently gained 10 – 13 lbs. but I’m back on my game. Last night I had less than 1,300 calories. I would have had just over 1,100 but I decided to eat a S’mores Chopani Flip for dessert. Today will likely be the same. Oh, and by the way I have little to no money for food because I have to pay back Afterpay, which is about $1,500 until the end of February so there’s that.

I wrote this post in fifteen minutes right before work. That feels good. Wish I could do this daily. I was so stressed over my shopping spree that I couldn’t sleep so I got up, did a 30-minute workout and now I’m writing this. That’s the best way to start my day.
